1. Information we collect
Account and profile information
We collect details you provide when creating or updating an account, such as your name, email address, phone number, profile photo, school or company, location, and role.
Application information
Students may provide academic records, industrial-training letters, identification documents, CVs, skills, preferences, and application responses. Companies may provide business registration, contact, opportunity, supervisor, and selection information.
Service and device information
We may record page activity, device and browser details, approximate location derived from network information, error logs, notification tokens, and security events needed to operate and protect the service.
2. How we use information
- Create and secure accounts and identify the correct student, company, supervisor, authority, or administrator role.
- Submit, review, manage, and track industrial-training applications.
- Enable platform messages, service notifications, and support responses.
- Detect abuse, investigate errors, enforce platform rules, and improve reliability.
- Meet applicable legal, audit, and record-keeping obligations.
4. Security and account protection
IT Connect uses authenticated access, role-based database rules, encrypted network connections provided by our hosting services, and restricted administrative access. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication rather than stored directly in IT Connect’s database.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. Use a unique password, keep access to your email account secure, sign out on shared devices, and report suspicious activity promptly.
5. Your choices and rights
- Review and update eligible profile information from your account.
- Choose whether to grant browser notification permission.
- Request access, correction, export, restriction, or deletion where applicable.
- Withdraw optional consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Some records may need to be retained for active applications, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here. Retention periods vary by record type, account status, active placement, legal requirement, and security need. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it where practical.
7. Children and eligibility
IT Connect is intended for eligible students participating in industrial training. Users below the age at which they may independently consent in their location should use the service only with appropriate parent, guardian, or institutional authorization.
8. Updates to this policy
We may revise this policy as the platform changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when a change materially affects how personal information is handled.
9. Contact and privacy requests
Use the Help Center for privacy questions, access or deletion requests, and security concerns. Include the email associated with your account, but never send your password.
